Frequently asked questions

How do I change my address?

Changing the address on your insurance is easy and can be done completely online. Simply log in to My Account, select ‘My policy list’ then ‘Update my policy’, and choose ‘Contact details’ under the ‘My personal details’ heading. Remember to double check that your mailing address is the correct one also.

Please note: Life Insurance and Income Protection aren't currently supported online. Please call us on 13 22 44 if you need to change your address.

How do I get a copy of my insurance certificate?

Many of AAMI’s policies allow you to get a copy of your insurance certificate (also known as a Certicificate of Insurance or COI) through your online account. These are:

You just have to log in, choose the policy you want the certificate for, then click on ‘View my policy’. You’ll see an option to ‘Get documents’ under the ‘Update my policy’ tab, where you’ll find the insurance certificate as well as any other documents available for you to download.

If your policy isn’t on this list, you’ll need to give us a call on 13 22 44 so that we can arrange to send a copy of your insurance certificate for you.

How do I track my claim?

Once you’ve lodged a claim, we make it easy to view its status. Simply login to your AAMI My Account or the AAMI App and you can:

How do I update my payment details?

You can change your credit card and direct debit details online in your AAMI My Account.

Simply sign in to your My Account and find the policy you want to update, click on 'View my policy' from the pop-up menu, then select the 'Change payment details' tab.

Please note, this isn't available for CTP, MAI Insurance, or life insurance products.

How do I change my email address?

To change your email address, sign in to your My Account, select the policy you need to change your email for, then choose 'Update my policy' or 'View policy'.

From there, navigate to the 'Personal details' tab, and you'll see an option to edit your email address.

How do I reset my password?

An email enabling you to change or reset your password will be sent to the email address you supplied us with when you registered for your My Account.

Sometimes these emails can be sent to your junk or spam folders – so be sure to check there as well.

How can I make a claim?

You can make a claim any time online through your AAMI My Account.

Simply sign in, select the policy you'd like to make a claim for, then select 'make a claim' in the pop-up tile that appears. Just follow the prompts and you'll be guided through each step.

Once you've completed the form an insurance agent will assess it and AAMI will contact you and process your claim with haste.

This is a simpler, faster and more streamlined way to make a claim. Alternatively, you can call the claims line 24/7 on 13 22 44 - just keep in mind that due to call volumes there may be a wait.
